The site being located in the remote hills of Kodaikanal had a great potential. Rohit, the client wanted a small holiday outhouse with the view of the beautiful valley with sun setting between the mountains. The site is a part of a small hillock and we chose to place this small structure on the highest corner of the site leaving some space on all sides to be covered with thick tree plantation.

The client wanted a small studio with a living space, bedroom, kitchen and a utility space. As transporting material to the site from the valley is very expensive, we chose to use the soil available on the site. The material used for this structure are granite stone(easily available in that area), rammed earth walls with a metal frame and insulated roofing panels for the roof.
